The next time you pick up Tic Tacs, remind yourself to keep the container when you’ve finished the tiny mints or candy-flavored treats. That’s because you can transform the empty item into a type of mini terrarium. In a handy hack shared on YouTube by the @ome. channel, viewers are shown that it simply takes a few easy steps and a few key pieces to make this pint-sized project a total (and adorable) success.
Before you get started, you’ll need an empty Tic Tac container that you’ve washed out and given time to fully dry. You’ll also want to choose your greenery ahead of time. If this is your first time setting up a small enclosed garden, then you may want to stick with types of terrarium plants that anyone can take care of. That might include spikey pines and green moss. If you don’t want to worry about actually keeping your plants alive, then you can opt for tiny dried twigs and pebbles. Once you’ve collected everything you need, then you can start putting together your Tic Tac container terrarium. Frankly, this project is so easy and the result is so sweet that you might not be able to resist creating an entire collection of Tic Tac container terrariums.
Making a Tic Tac container terrarium takes just a few minutes
In the tutorial provided by @ome., they start out with a Tic Tac container that’s empty, clean, and dry. They then remove the outer sticker that indicates what the container used to hold. From there, the DIY-er with a green thumb fills the bottom and sides of the container with soil. After tamping the soil down, they then carefully place some moss on the soil using long tweezers.
From here, you can mix things up to create something that you love. In the video, a small piece of Spider Wood that has been cut down to the perfect size is placed into the container. A second piece joins the first before the lid of the container is popped back on to complete the terrarium. Depending on what types of plants you choose to add to your creation, adding a few drops of water might be necessary to keep the moss moist and the tiny environment thriving.
