Karrie is a human centred designer and self-proclaimed “possibilitarian” a mindset that does not accept limits unless they are constructive. She uses both these valuable tools to improve the adoption of digital health across Australia, where she is currently designing and implementing Telehealth at Royal Melbourne Hospital. Karrie’s clinical background is in rural ICU nursing. Previously she held research and education roles in both academia and health services in metro and regional areas. She holds adjunct lecturer and industry fellow positions at 2 Universities and is a non-executive director of an Independent girl’s school. In acting in these roles, Karrie aims to inform, drive and disrupt both secondary and tertiary education to prepare the future workforce for digital practice.

Karrie was fortunate to spend her childhood growing up in Papua New Guinea. This experience at this stage in her life was pivotal in paving her career a health, where she saw that she could be of service to others and in particular, vulnerable populations. This experience continues to drive her today.
