Ben McMenamin is a wearer of many hats.
Ben believes that food has the power to bring people together and catalyse social change. With over 12 years of experience as a chef and a degree from RMIT, he’s seen the results of this first-hand.
Ben uses his passion as a platform to act as a sustainability communicator, and has worked with a number of great initiatives, including Melbourne Knowledge Week, the Local Food Launchpad, Worksmith, OzHarvest, and the Food Know How project. His engagement with sustainability extends to gardening. While at RMIT he created a project called Greening RMIT, dedicated to creating more urban gardens and increasing food literacy.
When not working on his startup businesses, the Social Food Project and We Eat Local, Ben can be found doing event coordination work for the City of Melbourne, hosting community food events or leading the kitchen team at Grub Food Van in Fitzroy.
