Chair, Agriculture Forum at Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering
Calling Tim Reeves a thought-leader in agricultural research would be a colossal understatement. His vast experience and continually expanding knowledge in the sector makes him a titan of industry and an expert in numerous related fields. At Global Ideas Forum, he will be tackling the topic of food security for a rapidly growing global population, asking the question, ‘how might we secure the supply of nutritious food to 9 billion people by 2050?’.
Tim has had the varied and exciting career most only dream of. He worked in Mexico for several years as the Director General of the Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre, has been President of the Australian Society of Agronomy, and has served as a member for the United Nations’ Millennium Project Task Force on Hunger. He is currently a Professorial Fellow at the University of Melbourne, Chair of the Agricultural Forum at ATSE, and holds several other high-profile roles.
Make sure not to miss his keynote and panel at #GIF17, as he dives into a discussion on some of the most pressing issues and problems facing the next generation of the 21st century.
