Co-founder and Director, Fair Food Challenge
Sophie Lamond describes her career as a combination of “research, activism, community development and lots of good food”.
In 2015 Sophie co-founded the organisation, Fair Food Challenge. The organisation seeks to implement sustainable food policies in Australian Universities, and facilitates student-led policy design and campaigns for health, sustainable, and equitable food environments.
She’s also run community kitchens, helped launch the Melbourne Chapter of Youth Food Movement and is currently completing her Ph.D. at the University of Melbourne. She currently speaks, writes, and runs events to initiate and further conversations about food.
At Global Ideas Forum, Sophie will be in the panel discussion on food security and global health, as well as a roundtable discussion on finding success, facing challenges, and solving problems creatively.
