Richard Di Natale
Leader of The Australian Greens
Richard Di Natale is a senator and current leader of the Australian Greens. Prior to taking up politics, he worked as a General Practitioner. This incorporated working in Aboriginal health in remote areas of the Northern Territory, HIV prevention in India and in the drug and alcohol treatment sector.
Richard’s time in health gave him unique and invaluable insights into a plethora of issues that face Australian and global health, which he now tackles through political action. These include issues as diverse as dying with dignity, and illicit drug policy reform, which he now leads campaigns into.
His political career has been illustrious and has seen him focus on climate change, international development and healthcare. Di Natale has also been a proponent for education and health equity for underrepresented, underprivileged groups, and has lead notable progress toward Medicare-funded dentistry.
Under his leadership the Greens party has flourished and become a political powerhouse, providing a voice for those in the broader community that value addressing the more prevalent and pressing matters facing our world.
Richard will be delivering a keynote at #GIF17 on, Global Health Leadership in the Face of Volatility and Uncertainty into the 21st Century.
