Medical Officer, The Fred Hollows Foundation
Noela is one of the rare few medical professionals who can actually claim to have done it all. After graduating with an MBBS, she spent over four years working in rural and remote hospitals across India. In that time she did everything from health promotion to obstetrics, amputations to plastic surgery to paramedicine and hospital administration!
She then trained as an Opthamologist in the UK, before following up with a Masters in Public Health Ophthalmology. Prior to making the move to Australia, she worked with WHO/SEARO, evaluating Vision2020 to evaluate plans for eliminating preventable blindness across a region of 11 countries. Noela now works with Fred Hollows to evaluate and strengthen national and international projects and programs.
At #GIF17, Noela will be using her incredible first-hand knowledge in public health to lead a workshop on balancing value and volume in universal healthcare.
