Director, Gay and Lesbian Health Victoria (GLHV)
Liam is Director GLHV, at the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society, La Trobe University. He has lectured on sexuality and gender studies; developed Australian lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) health and wellbeing research, policy and programs; and developed and delivered LGBTI training modules in the health, education and community sectors. He is lead author on Private Lives 2, the largest national survey of the health and wellbeing of LGBT Australians. Liam has worked on key areas of Victorian LGBTI legislative reform including recognition of same sex couples, anti-homophobia and transphobia initiatives and the expunging of gay men’s prior convictions for lawful sexual activity. He also led the development of the Rainbow Tick, a world-first LGBT- inclusive accreditation system for health and human services in Australia.
