Australia’s UN Youth Ambassador and Social Entrepreneur
A social entrepreneur and international lawyer – the 2016 Australian Youth Ambassador, Chris Eigeland, has founded three international enterprises, each addressing a unique social challenge.
Chris is currently the Co-Founder and Director of GO1, an online learning technology startup with over 60 staff spread across Australia, Silicon Valley and South-East Asia. GO1 was recently named one of the 100 Top Disruptive Companies in the world for its work in learning engagement, and Chris was named Australian Young Innovator of the Year in 2014 for his work in the edu-tech space.
Prior to that, Chris founded The Schoolbag, a social enterprise that distributed tens of thousands of primary education supply kits to Haiti, South Africa and Vietnam, and was a Director of Global Voices, a not-for-profit providing pathways for young Australians to contribute to international diplomacy.
Chris’ passion and experience is well recognised, most recently through his invitation to be an International Associate at the Constitutional Court of South Africa, working on Human Rights jurisprudence. Recognized as a ‘Global Shaper’ by the World Economic Forum, Chris is an ambassador for the international leadership network One Young World, and is a contributor at forums such as the G20 on innovation and global challenges, and has been listed as among Queensland’s Top 50 Thinkers.
